Lourdes Health Names Carol Price as DAISY Award® for Extraordinary Nurses Recipient

Lourdes Health is pleased to announce that Carol Price, a Registered Nurse at Lourdes Health, has been named as a recent recipient for The DAISY Award® for Extraordinary Nurses at Lourdes Health.

“We are honored to recognize Carol with the DAISY Award® for her exceptional dedication and compassionate care,” said Kena Chase, Lourdes Chief Nursing Officer.

“She is an exemplary nurse whose ability to connect with patients on a deeply personal level, while consistently delivering the highest quality of nursing care, truly embodies the spirit of this award.”

Carol has been an RN at Lourdes Health, in the Women’s Health clinic since October 2008. She was nominated by a co-worker who said, "I first met Carol Price when I was starting out as a medical assistant student. From the moment I met her, she has been kind, patient and understanding. Carol truly cares about the wellbeing of the patient and has formed incredible relationships with the patient's and her co-workers.

Carol is always willing to help anyone, even if that means additional work for her. She stays late and comes earlier with a happy attitude. She is the backbone of the Lourdes OBGYN department. She is dependable and honest. If anyone deserves the Daisy award, it is Carol Price."

Carol precepts several Columbia Basin College MA students and WSU Nursing students. 

The DAISY Award® is an international program started in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, whose family experienced first-hand the difference his nurses made in his care through clinical excellence and compassionate care. The family created The DAISY Award® to express gratitude to nurses and to enable other patients, families, and staff to thank and honor their special nurses.
