Suicide Prevention Awareness Month: A Time to Reach Out
September 12, 2025
In every community, there are individuals quietly facing overwhelming emotional pain. Suicide Prevention Awareness Month challenges us to step up, speak out, and ensure that help is available for those who need it most.
Suicide remains a significant public health concern. According to the CDC’s most recent data, nearly 50,000 Americans died by suicide in 2023—the highest number ever recorded in the U.S. Adults aged 45 to 64 continue to have the highest rates of suicide, followed closely by adults 75 and older. These numbers underscore an urgent need for better access to mental health care, especially for older adults who often face unique challenges such as isolation, chronic illness, and grief.
At Lourdes Behavioral Health, we’re proud to offer high-quality behavioral health services designed to support adults18+ years in crisis. Our experienced behavioral health team provides compassionate, evidence-based care in a safe, healing environment. Whether someone is experiencing severe depression, suicidal thoughts, or another acute mental health challenge, we are here to help stabilize, support, and guide them toward recovery.
This month, we invite everyone to be part of the solution. Learn the warning signs. Speak openly about mental health. Offer connection, not judgment. And most importantly, never hesitate to seek help for yourself or someone you care about.
