Lourdes Awards Undergraduate Healthcare Scholarships
May 23, 2018

Lourdes Foundation and Lourdes Auxiliary have awarded 8 scholarships to local students pursuing undergraduate degrees in a healthcare related field.
Recipients were selected using a number of criteria including the applicant’s academic achievement, financial need and volunteerism. The Scholarship Program was created to encourage exceptional students to pursue a career in the health care industry, as well as ease their personal financial burden.
Seven recipients were awarded $1,500 and one recipient will receive the $500 Sandbank-Stanke Memorial Nursing Scholarship, which is funded by the Tensmeyer Family of Wenatchee, WA.
“Each year we have the opportunity to learn about local students who are pursuing their dreams and working toward building a healthier community. At Lourdes, we share their mission and are pleased to award these scholarships.” – Wendee Bodnar, Lourdes Foundation Specialist
Recipients were formally recognized at the Scholarship Luncheon last week. At the Luncheon, students were acknowledged and given the opportunity to speak about their future educational goals and how they will utilize the scholarship to better their future.
