Lourdes Health Names 2026 Mercy Award Winner

May 15, 2026

Lourdes Health recently announced that Patrick Jones has been recognized as the facility’s 2026 Mercy Award winner. The Mercy Award recognizes one employee from each of Lifepoint Health’s facilities who profoundly touches the lives of others and best represents the spirit and values on which the company was founded.

Established in 2001, the Mercy Award is an annual recognition program that honors the life and contributions of Scott Mercy, Lifepoint’s founding chairman and chief executive officer. The award is considered the highest honor a Lifepoint employee can receive.

“At Lourdes Health, our caring and compassionate team members are at the heart of advancing our mission of making communities healthier – and Patrick is a shining example of this day in and day out,” said Brian Sims, CEO of Lourdes Health “We are so proud to recognize his many contributions to caring for patients, supporting our hospital, and serving our community. I’m grateful for Patrick’s positive influence and the example he sets for all of us.”

Pat has been an integral part of the Lourdes family since 1997, dedicating his career to serving the organization and community with compassion, leadership, and steadfast commitment. Having worked in every role within the Plant & Facilities department, Pat brings unmatched knowledge of both the Lourdes campus and its rich history. His extensive research and documentation of Lourdes Health’s historical timeline, spanning from the early 1900s through decades of growth and service expansion, reflect his deep connection to the organization’s legacy. Known for his merciful spirit, curiosity, and dedication to excellence, Pat has spent years ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of patients, staff, and visitors. Beyond Lourdes, he is also a devoted community volunteer through the Barnyard Kids 4-H Club, where he is recognized for always stepping forward to help others.

Each facility winner, including Patrick, will be considered for Lifepoint’s 2026 companywide Mercy Award. The companywide winner will be announced this summer and honored during a ceremony in Nashville, Tenn., in September.
