Lourdes Health is pleased to announce the recent acquisition of the da Vinci®Xi – the latest technology in robotic-assisted surgical systems.

Lourdes’ new da Vinci®Xi is the only system of its kind in southeastern Washington.

Lourdes new Xi System will made its debut Tuesday, May 8th, 2018. Dr. Wanda Good, General, Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeon, was the first physician at Lourdes Health to perform a procedure using the Xi System.

“As a fellowship trained general surgeon, in advanced, minimally-invasive surgery, I have seen the benefits of utilizing robotic technology for my patients. All da Vinci®Surgical Systems feature wristed instruments, 3D-HD visualization, intuitive motion and an ergonomic design. The surgeon is 100% in control of the robotic-assisted da Vinci System, which translates his/her exact hand movements directly to the small, precise movements of the wristed instruments inside the patient’s body.” – Dr. Good

Good noted the advantages to the surgeon as well. The Xi’s immersive 3D-HD vision system provides surgeons a highly magnified view, virtually extending their eyes and hands into the patient. Dr. Good celebrated her 500th robotically assisted surgery in April. She elaborated on the da Vinci®Xi Surgical System benefits.
