Jasdip Matharu, MD arrived in the Tri-Cities and Lourdes Medical Center on July 2013.  He was born and raised in Vancouver, Canada He describes himself as a “Renaissance man” with experience as an infantryman, computer programmer, network architect and biochemical researcher. After attending medical school at St. George’s University, Dr. Matharu completed his residency and fellowship at the University of Florida focusing on pulmonary disease and critical care.

Dr. Matharu is Board Certified in Pulmonary Disease, Internal Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine. His practice includes treatment for obstructive lung disease, pulmonary hypertension, lung cancer and lung transplant, and many other pulmonary conditions.

Endobronchial Ultrasound Transbronchial Needle Aspiration (EBUS-TBNA) uses an ultrasonic bronchoscope, specifically designed for diagnostic biopsies and staging in your lung. The scope’s design enables Dr. Matharu to visualize your lymph nodes and surrounding vessels in real-time, via ultrasound, while simultaneously viewing the endoscopic image. The EBUS-TBNA System makes biopsies safer and more accurate than conventional “blind” TBNA and offers a less invasive, less costly alternative to mediastinoscopy.
