Lourdes Health announces the opening of Desert Hope, the only facility in our community offering 24-hour care for individuals withdrawing from alcohol or other substances.
A ribbon cutting and open house will take place on Monday, June 20th at 4pm at 1020 S. 7th Ave in Pasco.
“Since the detox center closed last summer, our jails, mental health clinics and emergency rooms have opened their doors to those dealing with addiction, but there needs to be a central location devoted to withdrawal management.” – Dana Oatis, LICSW, Director of Outpatient Services at Lourdes Counseling Center
This 12-bed facility is a safe place for individuals in need of help to safely withdraw from alcohol or other substances. A typical stay lasts three to five days. Once completed, the individual will be connected to the appropriate level of care which may include other types of treatment.
“We provide treatment interventions to help individuals identify where they are in the recovery process and what it will take for them to move forward. We focus on who the individual is and what strengths and abilities they have. The therapeutic process is most effective when there is collaboration between the individual and the treatment staff to provide care that is person centered.” – Oatis
